I think we should set goals and try to follow them. Try and best and work together and plan before of the ideas and what are trailer may look like. I think this project has alot to do with partnership and sharing ideas also with agreeing on eachother’s ideas and decisions. I think this will be a fun project.

The video was very detailed and very good. It explained how goo the book was but not giving away the ending or what happens. A good quality trailer should have detail and effects, drama, and build up.

Rules! Rules! Rules!

Are rules a good thing or a bad thing? Does your life work better because of the rules you have to follow, or are the rules just annoying? Which rules in the school do you think are not effective? What should be done instead.

I personally believe rules can be both good and bad. I think it’s good to have rules for organization for having a safe community but i also believe that if there is to much rules then it can be bad because it would feel like you have no freedom to do what you want and be who you want to be. I think it’s good to have a community with rules that way it leads to agreement and organization between the society but i think they should go over board with rules so that there’s too much because it will just get stressful and annoying then.

I have quite a few rules in my life but i think that the amount i have is just perfect for me. It helps me plan out my life a little but yet still have freedom of my own. I think freedom is a very important aspect in life, the chance to do what you want and be the person you know you are and experience adventures. I have rules but not too many rules, and i think thats just right.

Our school has quite a few rules i think most of them stick and many follow although there is still some rules that aren’t effective to everyone. It’s mostly the little less important rules that don’t stick, like eating or chewing gum in class. I think the school should make up reasonable rules and stick to that. Choose the most important rules and don’t have so much rules for the school or else it will cause stress and unhappiness. I believe the rules we have right now are pretty good.

What aspect of the community is most controversial to you? Why?

In the giver i have noticed that they have to really think about the answer before answering. Thing’s are well thought of before it is actually made a decision. For example in the giver the thing thats seems to be the most controversial is there match making. They spend the most time and thought trying to figure out someone’s match. They cant make any decisions of there own. The committee of elders decide that so they take there time finding the perfect one for each other.

This is very different from are community. We are aloud to all make are own decisions and decide what we want to do and the people to like. although i would have to say the most controversial thing in are society is the decisions we have to make for are town like new buildings and rules. Although i personally think that the way are society is compared to the giver society is way better. We have to right to make decisions on are own and decide what we want done with our lives, and i think we are lucky to have that right.

opinion of society in Harrison vs. The Giver

The society in Harrison and the giver are both different but yet the same in a way. I would much rather have the society of the giver then harrison. Both society focus’s on being equal but Harrison took it too far i believe. in the story they change everything about everyone so there equal. for example if someone was attractive they would still a clown nose on hem so they weren’t. everyone had the same hearing and sight. in both story’s no one could make there own decisions. In the giver they didn’t get to decide what there life was like. the elders decided that for them. there child hood ended early and they got jobs at the age of 12. Even though i think this is unreasonable i would much rather have the society like in the giver rather then in the Harrison. i think in Harrison its way over board of unreasonable. i personally believe everyone should have the opportunity to be who they want to be. Have a chance to be themselves.

summer vacation

Some may think that two months in summer is better. It’s much warmer then and you would get more out of it. It’s not good to change it because in a way it’s better and seems like you get more out of this because after a long year of school sometimes all you need is that two months off to relax before a new year. We all need a little vacation after every year.

Others disagree saying that more breaks through out the year and less at the end of the year is better. The reason for this is because it evens’ out your year and make it not so much pressure through out. Some would like to change it to this just so they get more breaks and don’t have to wait all year to finally get time off.

Both of these statements are very understandable, although I agree more with getting two months off at summer. I think it’s better and will be more appreciated. You will be able to get time off then come back for a new year fresh. I think you will get more out of two months in summer then another week in winter, there’s more you can do. I’m happy with what we have right now and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Spring break

I had an awesome spring break!!!!! The best ever!!!! i went to my favorite place in the world!!! DISNEYLAND!!!!! I went with my mom and dad it was really fun. my favorite ride in california adventure was californina scremin. that was the big roller coaster. my favorite ride in disneyland was splash mountain. I got soaked on that ride! i also went to universal studio’s and sea world. i really enjoyed the sea lions there adn in universal studio’s my dad made me go into the house of horrors and i am extremey scared of chucky and he popped out at me 5 times. i was soo scared. but yes i had a great holiday. it was very hot there as well but it sucked coming back here to the snow. but i had fun!

I picked Celine Dion for my poet. She is an amazing singer and writes a few of her own songs, although not all. Celine Dion is canadian and was bon in Quebec. She is an amazing singer song writer and i really enjoy her music.

1. Who or what is the “them” referred to in the poem?

The people who are poor and in poverty asking for help.

2. What has the narrator done or not done?

The narrator has made this a sad regretful poem and has rhyme in it. He made this poem meaningful.

3. How does the narrator feel?

The narrator feels bad for the people in poverty.

4. What is the narrator suggesting about charity?

He believes we should help the poor and ones struggling. We have so much more then them and more then we need while someone out there is suffering because they have nothing. So we should help them and not just “walk by”

5. What double meanings or plays on words are there in the poem?

The poem is saying to help, but then yet at the same time its saying he didn’t help.
